The Process

The production process taken down in Wam tea factory is CTC (Crushing Tearing and Curling) processing. The process goes through different stages like Collecting high quality Green leaf, Withering, Shredding, RC Material mix, CTC cutting, Fermentation, Drying, Sorting and Packing. The Tea Maker takes care of the all production activities done by the tea company.The tea maker also analyses the produced dust and graded it.


Green Leaf

Green leaf brought to factory is weighed and the weight ascertained for which a register being kept in the factory as green leaf weighment register. Green leaf quality is an important factor for making good teas and it is advisable to restrict course count below 35 percentages.


Withering

Weighed leaves are spread in withering troughs. WAM Tea's factory has withering capacity of 12000kgs and can be adjusted according to the daily received quantity of leaves. Each through is equipped with 3HP motor and hot/cold air is allowed to pass through the trough.


Shredding

Withered leaf is passed through a shredder and shredded well. The RC (recondition) material is fed in to the rotor vane. The shredded leaf and the RC stuff mixed together at a point and allowed to pass through the rotor vane. This mixture turns in to pasty nature due to pressure being exerted inside rotor vane, and discharges for cutting process.


CTC Cutting

Rotor vane discharges are passed through CTC rollers and the factory has a cut CTC system. At most care should be taken to see proper temperature level is kept throughout CTC process. The optimum level of temperature is in between 35-40 degree. Proper milling and chasing of CTC rollers have to be carried out periodically to promote grades percentage as required.


Fermentation

The processed dhool is fed in to a drum, CFM and get dhool fermented. This factory follows fermenting time as 70-90 minutes. Once the dhool is fully fermented, it is taken for drying.


Drying

Fermented dhool is fed in to a drier and moisture taken out. The fermented dhool has moisture of 45-50 percentages approximately. Firing is a vital operation tea manufacture and no sunder firing/ over firing is not allowed. The required amount of inlet / exhaust temperature to be monitored well and this factory has set the firing temperature to be 140-150 respectively.


Sorting

Drier mouth tea (fired tea) is passed through a fibro mat and eliminates stalk / fiber etc. tea from fibro mat is allowed to sift through trinik sorting machine and get various grades extracted. Trinik sorting machine is fitted with the following size of machines. 50, 40 ,30etc are the size of machines and through 50 SFD produced and so on . These grades are sifted again in a sorter to ensure that proper size is maintained. The sifted grades are winnowed, grace and all fiber, flakes and flimsy stuff separated. The winnowed grades are sorted and proper accounts kept.


Packing

Tea is in various bins quantified and invoice prepared. The following C.E are mandatory and list of factory available in this factory are given below.
